Directed by Shuji Iuchi and produced by Studio Deen, *Ranma ½: Big Trouble in Nekonron, China* was released theatrically in November 1991. Marking the first full-length feature film based on Rumiko Takahashi's smash-hit martial arts comedy manga, the movie expanded the franchise's slapstick universe with cinematic scale and high-energy combat sequences. Acclaimed by fans for faithfully preserving Takahashi's signature chaotic humor, romantic tension, and dynamic choreography, the film proved immensely popular in domestic theaters and became an enduring home video classic among international anime audiences.
