Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun · 月刊少女野崎くん · 2014
A romantic confession accidentally lands a high school girl manga assistant duties.
Synopsis
High school student Chiyo Sakura builds up the courage to confess her romantic feelings to her tall, stoic classmate Umetaro Nozaki. Through a hilarious misunderstanding, Nozaki assumes she is an ardent fan and gives her his autograph, inviting her to his apartment where she ends up filling in ink backgrounds for his shojo manga. Nozaki is secretly a celebrated, serialized shojo manga artist publishing under a female pen name, completely oblivious to real-world romantic cues. Sakura becomes his regular manga assistant, joining an eccentric circle of classmates whose bizarre personalities inadvertently inspire Nozaki's melodramatic fictional comic storylines.

“Nozaki-kun is adapted from a 4Koma manga and is easily on par with some of the most famous 4Koma adaptations, like Azumanga Daioh and Lucky Star.”
“Funny, punchy and chocked full of interesting characters. The only downside is the lack of any narrative pay-off beyond the laughs.”
“A moderately successful comedy, bolstered by a charming cast and colourful visuals.”
