Synopsis

Entering high school hoping to find an extracurricular passion that truly inspires her, artistic freshman Tamaki Honda stumbles upon the SNS Club, an eccentric student circle dedicated to self-publishing independent doujin video games. Recruited as the club lead graphic illustrator, Tamaki collaborates closely with programmer Shiina Murakami, writer Ayame Seki, and sound designer Kayo Fujikawa. Balancing tight publication deadlines, creative exhaustion, and humorous technical software glitches, Tamaki discovers the immense thrill of seeing her humble sketches come to life in digital play, forging deep creative bonds with her fellow clubmates.

Background (may contain spoilers)

Produced by Silver Link and directed by Shinya Kawatsura with scripts by Fumihiko Shimo, the 2016 television anime *Magic of Stella*, known in Japan as Stella no Mahou, adapts clobaU four-panel manga serialized in Manga Time Kirara Max. Broadcast across twelve episodes in autumn 2016, the production received warm appreciation for its authentic depiction of grassroots indie game development, soothing color palette, and charming comedic ensemble dynamics that celebrated collaborative creative teamwork.

“It's a simple story and nothing original, but if this episode's careful groundwork is any indication it will be well told and lovely to watch.”
