Uma Musume: Pretty Derby Watch Order: Seasons 1-3, Films and Cinderella Gray, in order
“Every Uma Musume season, film and spin-off in release order, with the comedy shorts flagged as skippable.”
Racehorses reborn as idol athletes sounds like a joke until the real racing history shows up. Uma Musume adapts actual races, including the injuries and heartbreaks, and that's why it works. There are 13 titles on Lifehaki, and release order is the order.
Three TV seasons carry the main line: Season 1 (2018), Season 2 (2021) and Season 3 (2023). Each season follows a different set of racers, so you can start with any of them. In between sit optional extras: the BNW no Chikai specials, the Road to the Top web series and film (the film reworks the web series with new animation, so watch one or the other), and the Beginning of a New Era film from 2024.
Cinderella Gray, a separate two-part series from 2025, follows the underdog racer Oguri Cap. It's adapted from a manga, so it's optional, but it's well worth it. The chibi comedy Umayon, the original PV and the anniversary special are skippable. Think of them as the paddock before the race: cute, but you'll still get the race without them.
At the end: Seasons 1 to 3, then the films and Cinderella Gray when you want more.

Cinderella Gray (2025)
A manga adaptation about Oguri Cap, an underdog racer. 13 episodes, spring 2025.
Cinderella Gray is adapted from a manga and has its own lead, so the main seasons don't depend on it. It's well worth watching.
