Kouji Etou's work on Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba's Swordsmith Village Arc won this, a category that wouldn't survive many more editions before getting folded into Best Background Art.

Teppei Itou took this for Jujutsu Kaisen, beating a field that leaned heavily on Chainsaw Man and Demon Slayer's visual work.
