Story
Synopsis
Conrad Leto, a Wizard King from centuries past, is freed from imprisonment along with three other legendary magic knights, and their collective grievance against the Clover Kingdom is severe enough to justify destroying it entirely. Asta and Yuno face opponents operating at a level the current generation has never encountered, and stopping them requires cooperation between rivals who have spent the entire series competing. The film delivers large-scale magical spectacle while keeping Asta's stubborn refusal to quit as its emotional engine. Every confrontation forces rivals into cooperation the series had long resisted.

Produced by Studio Pierrot and adapted from Yuki Tabata's manga, Sword of the Wizard King released on Netflix in 2023 as an original story rather than an adaptation of existing manga material. Black Clover built a substantial international following through its lengthy television run, driven by an underdog protagonist with no magic at all in a world where magic determines everything. The film's action animation was widely praised as a significant step up from the television series' generally uneven production quality.
