My Hero Academia wins seven trophies. Made in Abyss walks off with the big one.

Hosted live from Los Angeles by Anthony Carboni and Erika Ishii, the 2nd Crunchyroll Anime Awards handed My Hero Academia's second season a category-leading seven wins, but Made in Abyss took home Anime of the Year and Best Score.

Edition of the Crunchyroll Anime Awards

Seven wins weren't enough for the crown.

The second Crunchyroll Anime Awards moved out of the internet and onto a real stage, the Ricardo Montalban Theater in Los Angeles, hosted live by Anthony Carboni and Erika Ishii. My Hero Academia's second season led every category it touched, picking up Best Hero for Izuku Midoriya, Best Villain for Stain, Best Boy for Shoto Todoroki, Best Girl for Ochako Uraraka, Best Opening for Kenshi Yonezu's *Peace Sign*, Best Animation, and Best Action. *Seven trophies, more than any other show that night.*

But Anime of the Year went to Made in Abyss, which also won Best Score for Kevin Penkin's soundtrack. Your Name. took the newly created Best Film category, and Christopher Sabat, the English voice of Vegeta, Piccolo, and All Might, received the very first Industry Icon Award.

This edition expanded nominees from four per category to six, dropped Best Couple, Best Fight Scene, and Most Heartwarming Scene, and introduced Best Score, Best Film, Best CGI, Best Continuing Series, and Best Slice of Life. It also handed out the first and, so far, only Best Manga award, going to Kabi Nagata's My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness.

Eighteen categories, a real red carpet, and one show that couldn't quite convert quantity into the top prize. Full breakdown below.
