Synopsis

Earth has been bombarded into a radioactive ruin by the Gamilas, leaving humanity roughly a year underground before extinction. The sunken battleship Yamato is rebuilt with alien technology and dispatched on a 148,000 light-year round trip to Iscandar to retrieve a device capable of restoring the planet. Between hostile fleets, an absolute deadline, and a crew carrying personal losses into a mission most of them expect not to survive, the voyage becomes both a war story and a question about whether humanity earned the rescue.
