Biography
Hiromichi Matano is a Japanese anime director and episode director whose career stretches back to 1979 [1]. He worked as an episode director on the 1980s classic Fist of the North Star [1] and later directed installments of the naval fleet franchise spanning Konpeki no Kantai and Kyokujitsu no Kantai [1]. His directing credits also include the OVA Transformers: Zone and the fantasy series Dragon Knight: Wheel of Time [2]. In more recent years he has continued working as an episode director and storyboard artist on series such as Dororo (2019), Pluto (2023), and The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten (2023) [2], with much of his recent output tied to Studio Comet and Dangan Pictures [1].
