Story
Synopsis
Teenage martial artist Ranma Saotome and his father Genma travel to China to train at the legendary cursed springs of Jusenkyo. After falling into cursed pools during a sparring duel, both contract a bizarre curse: cold water transforms Ranma into a red-haired girl and Genma into a giant panda, while hot water temporarily restores their normal male forms. Returning to Japan, Genma arranges a marriage between Ranma and Akane Tendo, the youngest daughter of dojo master Soun Tendo. Despite initial hostility between Ranma and Akane, the pair must navigate school rivalries and chaotic martial arts challengers.
⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Ranma's dual identity triggers chaotic confrontations across Furinkan High School, attracting eccentric romantic suitors and fierce martial adversaries. Kendo champion Tatewaki Kuno falls madly in love with Ranma's female form while swearing to destroy male Ranma. Ranma's directionally challenged rival Ryoga Hibiki, who transforms into a tiny black piglet named P-chan after falling into a Jusenkyo spring, arrives seeking vengeance before being adopted as Akane's cuddly pet. Despite constant bickering, prideful misunderstandings, and martial duels against rhythmic gymnasts and Chinese amazons, Ranma instinctively protects Akane, forging an affectionate mutual devotion beneath their comedic antagonism.
