Demon Slayer Watch Order: Every Season, Movie and Arc in Order, in order
“Every season, movie and the Infinity Castle trilogy in the right order, with a skip list.”
Ok, quick question. How do you watch a show where one of its best stories exists twice? Answer: you pick one. That's the only real trap in the Demon Slayer watch order, so let me save you the confusion.
Start with Season 1, then go straight into the Mugen Train movie. The movie picks up right after Season 1, and Season 2 assumes you've seen it. Here's the catch: Ufotable later retold that same story as a seven-episode TV arc so the Entertainment District season could air as one long run. So you'll see Mugen Train listed twice. Watch the movie or the TV arc, not both. It's like ordering the same pizza twice (you could eat both, I won't judge, but why).
After that it's smooth sailing: Entertainment District, then Swordsmith Village, then Hashira Training. Hashira Training is the quiet one. It's short, lighter on big fights, and some people want to skip it. Please don't. It ends exactly where Infinity Castle begins, so skipping it leaves a hole in the story.
Infinity Castle is the final battle, and it's being told as a trilogy of movies. Part 1 reached Japanese theaters in July 2025 and North America in September 2025. Part 2 has no official release date. Fans are guessing 2027 (nobody really knows), so it stays on the list as upcoming and this page gets updated when a date lands.
And the Kimetsu Academy shorts? School-life comedy with zero story. Watch them if you want to see the cast in school uniforms. Skip them if you don't. Nothing breaks either way.
At the end, it's one clean line: Season 1, the Mugen Train movie (or the TV arc), Seasons 2 to 4, then the Infinity Castle films. That's it. Go watch something.
Tanjiro's journey begins
Start here. Tanjiro, Nezuko, the Final Selection and Natagumo Mountain. You'll see why people keep talking about episode 19.
The Mugen Train story
Picks up right after Season 1. Do not skip it, Season 2 assumes you saw it.
Season 1 ends with a teaser for this story, and the Entertainment District Arc starts after the movie's events. Watch Season 2 without it and you'll be lost about what just happened and why the cast is in the state they're in.
The same story as the movie, retold as 7 TV episodes. Watch the movie or this, not both.
The TV arc retells the movie so the Entertainment District season could air as one continuous broadcast. If you've already seen the film, you gain nothing essential from it. If you'd rather watch TV episodes than a two-hour movie, pick this and skip the film instead.
The Upper Moons arcs
Picks up right after Mugen Train.
Tanjiro heads to the swordsmith village in search of a new blade.
Short and quieter than the arcs before it. Tanjiro trains with the Hashira.
Some viewers want to skip this season because it has fewer big fights. Don't. It ends right where the Infinity Castle films begin, so skipping it leaves a gap in the story.
Infinity Castle
Continues straight from Season 4. Part 1 of a planned trilogy.
Released in Japan in July 2025 and in North America in September 2025. It's a movie, but story-wise it's the next chapter of the show, so don't treat it as optional.
Upcoming. No official release date yet.
Listed so the order is complete when it releases. Parts 2 and 3 were announced together as a trilogy. Fans are guessing 2027 for this one, but nothing is confirmed, so check the release status before telling anyone it's out.
Extras and shorts
School-life comedy parody. Zero story.
A gag series where the cast live as ordinary students. Fun if you love the characters, but nothing in it affects the plot.
Another school parody, Valentine's edition. Safe to skip.
