Story
Synopsis
In U.C. 0105, twelve years after Char's Rebellion, the organization Mafty resists the Federation's tyranny by assassinating high-ranking officials, and its leader is Hathaway Noa, son of Bright Noa. Gigi Andalucia's uncanny insights keep stirring trauma Hathaway would rather leave buried, even as he prepares an air raid on the Adelaide conference. Colonel Kenneth Sleg reinforces Federation defenses with the elite Circe Unit, determined to end Mafty permanently, and Hathaway's focus is anything but steady. Every decision he makes is compromised by feelings he refuses to examine directly, and the Federation's counterforce is considerably better prepared than Mafty anticipated.

The second film in the Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway trilogy, adapted from Yoshiyuki Tomino's novels, released in Japanese theaters in January 2026, internationally in May, and on Netflix that August. The project is notable for its unusually grounded political framing, treating its protagonist as a terrorist whose cause may be justified and whose methods definitely are not. Its night-time mobile suit combat and atmospheric sound design have been widely praised across both installments.
