Story

Synopsis

Arsene Lupin III embarks on a complex international scavenger hunt to locate the legendary wartime fortune amassed by Harimao, a fabled thief who operated across Southeast Asia. To uncover the multi-billion-dollar cache, Lupin must collect three mystical animal statuettes scattered across the globe. He joins forces with Sir Archer, an eccentric British former intelligence officer, and his resourceful granddaughter Diana. However, a fanatical neo-Nazi syndicate known as the Neo-Himmel organization deploys ruthless commandos to seize the artifacts, forcing Lupin, Jigen, and Goemon into explosive battles across jungle ruins and urban hideouts.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Broadcast on Nippon TV in August 1995, *Lupin III: The Pursuit of Harimao's Treasure* was produced by Tokyo Movie Shinsha and directed by Osamu Dezaki. The special represents a pivotal milestone in franchise history, marking the official voice acting debut of Kanichi Kurita as Lupin III following the untimely passing of legendary original voice actor Yasuo Yamada. With Dezaki signature dramatic postcard memory freezes, rich orchestral arrangements by Yuji Ohno, and high-stakes comedic adventure, the film honored Yamada legacy.
