Story

Synopsis

Master thief Arsene Lupin III and his trusted partner Daisuke Jigen target the original prophecy manuscripts of Nostradamus, valued at fifty million dollars and stored inside a high-tech vault owned by eccentric billionaire Douglas. The heist goes awry when an extremist doomsday sect called the Nostradamus Sect hijacks an airliner carrying Douglas's young daughter Julia, whom Lupin had accidentally befriended. The cult demands the manuscript as ransom, seeking to orchestrate apocalyptic catastrophes that match the book's ancient predictions. Lupin must stage an audacious rescue operation inside Earthrise, Douglas's supposedly impenetrable high-tech skyscraper.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Lupin discovers that Douglas's top security aide Chris is secretly an undercover operative of the Nostradamus Sect, and Douglas himself had been utilizing subliminal messaging in the skyscraper elevators to manipulate Julia. As the cult unleashes a missile attack that sets Earthrise ablaze, Lupin breaches the upper penthouse, defeats Chris in a tense gun battle, and rescues Julia from the burning elevator shaft. Zenigata and Lupin recover the real manuscript, discovering its lost prophecies were mere juvenile nursery rhymes, proving the entire apocalyptic conspiracy was a fraudulent corporate scheme to manipulate global financial markets.
