Story

Synopsis

Believing their arch-nemesis Naraku has been permanently eliminated, InuYasha, Kagome Higurashi, Miroku, Sango, and Shippo experience a brief moment of peacetime. However, the malignant celestial maiden Princess Kaguya escapes her mirror imprisonment, manipulating mirror demons to collect sacred relics that will stop the passage of time and envelop Earth in an eternal frozen night. As dark omens spread across feudal Japan, InuYasha and his companions join forces with Sesshomaru and Kohaku to stop Kaguya from ascending to her dimensional mirror fortress and extinguishing humanity's future.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Kaguya captures Kagome and exploits InuYasha's human night, casting a dark spell that strips away his humanity and transforms him into a raging full-demon beast. Kagome breaks the curse by leaping forward to embrace and kiss InuYasha, restoring his gentle human soul. Harnessing the Dragon-scaled Tessaiga and the Backlash Wave alongside Sesshomaru's Tokijin, InuYasha severely weakens Kaguya. Miroku unseals his Wind Tunnel to swallow Kaguya's disembodied spiritual core forever. Escaping the collapsing fortress, the party discovers that Naraku merely feigned his death by hiding inside Kohaku's shadow.
