Synopsis

Relocating from Tokyo to a coastal town in Kumamoto Prefecture, first-year high schooler Hina Tsurugi prefers quiet indoor hobbies like knitting and crafts. While taking a stroll near the seawall, she encounters eccentric upperclassman Yuuki Kuroiwa, who manipulates Hina into holding an octopus and forces her to join the after-school Breakwater Club. Overcoming her initial terror of slimy sea creatures, Hina learns knot tying, bait handling, casting techniques, and marine safety alongside colorful clubmates. Through patience and teamwork, she discovers the rewarding thrill of catching and cooking fresh seafood.

“However, I would say that if you're not extremely into either fishing or hobby shows, you'd probably be better off checking out what the rest of the season has to offer and waiting to hear on this one. The ending theme is pretty dang adorable, though.”
