Toshiharu Sugie is a Japanese freelance animator, born in 1969, whose reputation in the industry rests on powerful, perspective-driven action animation [1]. His credited filmography stretches from OVA work in the early 1990s, including the Urotsukidoji series, through more than three decades of television and theatrical productions [1][2]. He became closely associated with Fairy Tail during its first television run from 2009 to 2013, where he handled a large share of the series' action sequences and built a following among fans who track individual animators' contributions [1].
