Story

Synopsis

At the popular family restaurant chain Pia Carrot, charming uniforms and attentive customer service create a welcoming dining atmosphere. High school coworkers Sayaka Takai and Akihiko Kannazuki share mutual romantic feelings, yet neither has gathered the courage to confess. Their budding connection faces an unexpected hurdle when Sayaka is assigned to assist at a newly opened beach resort branch for the busy summer season. Balancing demanding shifts, beachfront promotions, and a lively beauty contest alongside colorful fellow waitresses, Sayaka works tirelessly to make the restaurant successful, all while discovering that physical distance only deepens her affection for Akihiko.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Directed by Yuji Muto and animated by studio I-move, *Welcome to Pia Carrot! Sayaka's Love Story* was released theatrically in October 2002. Based on the acclaimed adult romance visual novel series developed by Cocktail Soft and F&C, the movie marked a rare theatrical adaptation of a dating simulation franchise. Adapting beloved heroine Sayaka Takai's narrative route, the production downplayed adult elements to focus on charming seaside hospitality, workplace camaraderie, and tender adolescent melodrama, earning praise from franchise fans for its cheerful visual presentation and faithful character designs.
