Synopsis
Vash the Stampede crosses paths with Gasback, a legendary bandit planning a heist on a town that has good reason to fear him, and with Amelia, a bounty hunter whose interest in the case is considerably more personal than professional. Vash's refusal to kill anyone remains absolute, which makes protecting a town from a man who does not share that principle substantially harder. Meryl and Milly return, and the film balances comedy against the moral cost Vash's pacifism keeps extracting from him. Every confrontation forces him to protect people without doing what would be easiest.

Directed by Satoshi Nishimura and produced by Madhouse, Badlands Rumble is a standalone film set within the original Trigun anime continuity, released more than a decade after the television series concluded. Based on Yasuhiro Nightow's manga, Trigun became one of the most popular anime among early Western fans, benefiting from strong syndication and a protagonist whose tonal range from slapstick to genuine anguish gave it unusual emotional reach. The film was welcomed as an overdue return to a beloved property. Its long-delayed arrival was welcomed by fans who had waited over a decade.
