Synopsis
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the anime franchise, this theatrical feature takes Ryoma Echizen and the elite Seigaku tennis team to Wimbledon, London, to compete against the world's top junior players alongside rival Japanese schools Hyotei, Rikkai, and Shitenhoji. While training in the British countryside, the players are ambushed by members of Crack, a ruthless underground street tennis syndicate led by the cruel Keith. Crack uses heavy tennis balls and destructive physical strikes to injure legitimate athletes. Ryoma and his rivals must unite to rescue their abducted teammates from Keith's ancient castle fortress.
⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Keith imprisons Seigaku captain Tezuka and Hyotei captain Atobe inside the medieval castle dungeon, forcing the remaining Japanese aces to fight through a series of gladiatorial tennis matches in courtyards and ramparts. Ryoma climbs the castle tower to confront Keith on a high-stakes tennis court suspended above stone parapets. Keith utilizes violent techniques, cracking the stone court with kinetic tennis smashes. Entering the Muga no Kyouchi state, Ryoma counters Keith's malicious aura with joyful, creative tennis, shattering Keith's racket and restoring his love for the sport before the police arrive.
