Story
Synopsis
Serving as an anime prequel to Bandai Namco's acclaimed role-playing video game, this fantasy feature follows young Imperial Knights Yuri Lowell and Flynn Scifo as rookie recruits in the Niren Corps, stationed in the frontier town of Cebron. Relying on blastia technology to shield human settlements from ravenous monsters, the knights are tasked with investigating anomalous aer leaks that cause violent mutations in local wildlife. While Flynn adheres strictly to imperial regulations and hierarchy, Yuri prioritizes protecting vulnerable villagers, creating friction between the childhood friends as a colossal mutated horde approaches.

The knights discover that high-ranking imperial military officials intentionally planted unstable blastia devices in Cebron to test their destructive energy output. Captain Niren sacrifices his life holding off a monstrous forest beast to protect his squad. Devastated by Niren's death, Yuri and Flynn combine their signature artes to slay the colossal mutant monster and secure the town. Disillusioned by systemic corruption and callous military command, Yuri resigns from the Imperial Knights to fight for justice on his own terms, while Flynn remains within the military to reform it from within.
