Mother's Rosario is a very different kind of Sword Art Online story, and it's both refreshing and immensely powerful in what it does.

Sword Art Online
ソードアート・オンライン · 2012–2020
Trapped inside a lethal virtual game, players must clear one hundred floors.
Synopsis
In the near future, ten thousand gamers strap into the revolutionary NerveGear helmet to experience Sword Art Online, the world's first full-dive virtual reality multiplayer role-playing game. The euphoria turns into horror when the game's creator, Akihiko Kayaba, locks everyone inside: any player whose health bar hits zero or whose helmet is removed dies in the real world. To earn their freedom, players must conquer all one hundred floors of the floating iron castle Aincrad. Solo swordsman Kirito joins forces with guild commander Asuna Yuuki, braving deadly boss dungeons, treacherous player-killing guilds, and their own vulnerabilities to survive.

Get past the fact that its core premise is a little silly, and there's a lot of entertainment to be had from a show which builds and utilises its world in a compelling fashion.
Read full reviewIf you've played an MMO at some point in your lifetime then give this a go. Don't be quick to judge the show's plot as a 'been there, done that' effort, go in open-minded and you will be rewarded.
Read full reviewKirito and Asuna return in the first installment of Aniplex's sequel to one of the biggest hits in recent memory. This time they have guns! And Kirito is a girl, sort of!
Read full reviewSeemingly smart concept with flawed execution. If one were to take Sword Art Online as two seasons, the first was four-star territory, and the second a two-star.
Read full reviewAt the end of the day, Sword Art Online: Alicization doesn't quite use its premise or story as well as it could. It has its high points, but largely dodges the bigger issues and doesn't always treat its characters well.
Read full reviewDespite many flaws and credibility-straining plot holes, this story about a virtual reality MMORPG turned genuinely deadly still proves involving and shows the potential to get better.
