Synopsis

At Saitama University's prestigious science and technology research laboratory, brilliant graduate researchers Shinya Yukimura and Ayame Himuro pride themselves on logical analysis and empirical data. When Ayame unexpectedly confesses her romantic feelings to Shinya, both scholars refuse to accept love without rigorous scientific proof. Determined to quantify romantic attraction mathematically, the pair design eccentric laboratory experiments measuring heart rates, oxytocin levels, mood swings, and proximity metrics. Alongside their exasperated lab mates and statistical advisor, the analytical couple turn everyday dating scenarios into absurd data-driven trials, attempting to formulate the definitive mathematical equation for love.

Background (may contain spoilers)

Based on Alifred Yamamoto's romantic comedy manga serialized on Flex Comix's Comic Meteor website, *Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It* was animated by Zero-G and premiered in January 2020. Directed by Toru Kitahata with series composition by Rintarou Ikeda, the television adaptation charms viewers by juxtaposing dry academic methodologies, statistical flowcharts, and peer-reviewed rigor against endearing romantic awkwardness. The series earned wide praise from both scientific communities and romance enthusiasts for its clever intellectual satire and wholesome character chemistry.
