Synopsis
Nishino Kanako quits her job at an advertising agency after harassment from her boss. Her next job interview turns out to be at an agency for contract killers, and she discovers she is unexpectedly good at the work. Her prickly mentor and partner, Sakurai, worries about her while she adjusts to a life she never planned. The series is a comedy that mixes everyday office frustrations with an unusual career.
Background (may contain spoilers)
Happy Kanako's Killer Life (Shiawase Kanako no Koroshiya Seikatsu) is a four-panel comedy manga written and illustrated by Toshiya Wakabayashi. It began as a web manga on Twitter and pixivFANBOX, and was later serialized by Seikaisha. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the English edition in 2021. A live-action series produced for DMM TV premiered on 28 February 2025, directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa, with Non as Kanako and Taisuke Fujigaya as Sakurai. Lifehaki's record lists this anime as a TV series for spring 2027, with Drive as studio and TOHO animation as producer. I could not find an official announcement confirming those details, so they should be checked against the official source before publication.
