Story
Synopsis
Genetically cloned from the fossilized eyelash of the mythical Pokémon Mew by Team Rocket scientists, Mewtwo awakens with overwhelming psychic capabilities and profound existential anger. Rejecting human enslavement, Mewtwo destroys his research laboratory and constructs a formidable palace fortress upon New Island. Styling himself as the world's supreme Pokémon master, Mewtwo dispatches dragonite messengers delivering invitations to promising trainers, including Ash Ketchum, Misty, and Brock. Crossing a tempestuous sea, Ash arrives on the island only to discover that Mewtwo intends to clone their Pokémon and eradicate natural life from Earth.

Mewtwo clones the trainers' Pokémon and orchestrates a brutal, exhausting duel where natural Pokémon and genetic clones beat each other to utter exhaustion. Refusing to witness the pointless slaughter, Ash runs directly into the crossfire between Mew and Mewtwo, turning into lifeless stone. Pikachu's grief and the tears of all the weeping Pokémon miraculously restore Ash to life. Profoundly touched by this selflessness, Mewtwo realizes that life's value is defined by one's choices rather than origins. Mewtwo wipes the trainers' memories and teleports peacefully away with his clones.
