Synopsis

Hospitalized in a quiet coastal city for acute hepatitis, seventeen-year-old Yuichi Ezaki frequently sneaks out of his medical ward to relieve restless boredom. During his covert wandering, he meets Rika Akiba, an abrasive girl battling severe congenital heart valve disease. Despite Rika's haughty personality and unreasonable demands, Yuichi becomes drawn to her hidden vulnerability and solitary burden. As their hospital encounters deepen into sincere affection, Yuichi learns that Rika's time is running out. Determined to bring happiness to her remaining days, he resolves to protect her spirit against overwhelming medical reality.
