Story

Synopsis

Shy, gentle middle schooler Utena Hiiragi worships the magical superheroines of Tres Magia, collecting their merchandise and admiring their valiant battles from afar. Her peaceful dream of becoming a magical protector takes a shocking detour when an enigmatic mascot creature named Venalita appears, tricking her into joining the villainous organization Enormeita. Thrust into direct combat against her beloved idols, Utena attempts to flee, only to discover an exhilarating sadistic ecstasy when punishing the magical heroines. Embracing her alter ego Magia Baiser, Utena orchestrates scandalous traps and provocative battles, transforming her obsessive adoration into wicked dominance.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Adapted from the provocative comedy manga by Akihiro Ononaka, *Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete* was animated by Asahi Production for television broadcast in winter 2024. Directed by Tadato Suzuki and Atsushi Ootsuki, the series became a massive international viral sensation for its subversive blend of over-the-top ecchi sadomasochism and genuine love for magical girl tropes. The production received significant acclaim among anime fans for its inventive combat choreography, surprisingly wholesome villain camaraderie, and stellar comedic voice acting by Fuka Izumi as Magia Baiser.
