Section 9 investigates a wave of mysterious suicides among defected General Ka Gael's military operatives in Newport City, uncovering the covert intervention of a super-wizard cyber-hacker known as the Puppeteer. As the investigation deepens, the team discovers that thousands of abused children are being systematically abducted through automated cybernetic healthcare networks, leading to suspicious sightings of Motoko operating as an independent agent in the field.
