Gauche the Cellist

Gauche is a clumsy, earnest cellist in a small-town civic orchestra struggling to rehearse Beethoven Sixth Symphony for an upcoming public concert. Berated harshly by his exacting conductor for rigid rhythm and uninspired emotional depth, Gauche retreats to his lonely countryside cottage for grueling nocturnal practice. Over four successive evenings, unusual woodland visitors arrive at his door: a persistent calico cat, an inquisitive cuckoo, a rhythm-tapping badger cub, and an ailing mouse. Through these whimsical musical encounters, Gauche discovers authentic emotional expression, blossoming into a captivating performer.
