Synopsis
High school student Natsuo Fujii harbors an unrequited, hopeless crush on his warmhearted teacher Hina, but attempts to move past his heartache by having a casual encounter with an introverted girl named Rui. His complicated emotional world collapses into chaos when his widowed father suddenly remarries, welcoming a new stepmother and her two daughters into their household. Horrified, Natsuo discovers that his new stepsisters are none other than Hina and Rui. Forced under one roof, the trio wrestles with intense jealousies, forbidden romantic temptations, and painful adolescent secrets.
⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Adapted from Kei Sasuga's sensational romance manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine, *Domestic Girlfriend* aired as a twelve-episode television series produced by studio Diomedéa in early 2019. Directed by Shouta Ihata with scripts by Tatsuya Takahashi, the anime attracted massive international online engagement for its unapologetic melodrama and emotional rollercoaster pacing. The show is particularly famous for its electrifying opening theme song performed by Minami, which captured viral attention across streaming services and amplified the series popularity worldwide.

I hated all three major characters in this. Honestly, I've never seen such an oblivious, self-absorbed cast in all my life. Natsuo, in particular, is completely oblivious to the fact that REAL love is thinking about the welfare of the other person as well as your own. Hina had it right the first time: he's just a "kid" in that respect.
