Synopsis
Stepping away from the devastating apocalyptic battlefield where humanity struggles against the Honkai cataclysm, the warrior Valkyries of St. Freya Academy find solace around the kitchen dining table. Kiana Kaslana, Raiden Mei, Bronya Zaychik, and their battle-hardened squadmates prepare mouthwatering domestic delicacies, ranging from slow-cooked stews and savory dumplings to delicate Russian pastries and sweet comfort desserts. Through the meticulous art of culinary preparation, shared meals become a sanctuary for healing, laughter, and tender emotional vulnerability. Amidst culinary mishaps and cozy laughter, the girls reaffirm the precious bonds they fight so hard to defend.
Background (may contain spoilers)
Produced by miHoYo as an official animated spin-off to the flagship mobile action title *Honkai Impact 3rd*, *Cooking with Valkyries* was animated by Blade and Thundray in 2019. Running as a soothing, bite-sized slice-of-life miniseries, the production features rich culinary illustrations and soothing acoustic melodies that contrast with the dark tragedy of the main game storyline. Offering fans an affectionate look into the characters' domestic downtime, the adaptation proved immensely popular across Chinese streaming platforms and international anime communities.
