Synopsis

This compilation film covers the opening of Attack on Titan, from the breach of Wall Maria and the loss of Eren's mother through the Trost district battle and the discovery of what Eren himself is capable of becoming. The recruits' training gives way immediately to a defense they are not prepared for, and the casualty rate makes clear that this story has no interest in protecting anyone. Condensed for theatrical presentation, it delivers the first season's opening arc as sustained catastrophe. Every early victory turns out to have cost more than anyone initially calculated.

The franchise became one of the most globally significant anime of its decade, driven by revelations that repeatedly reframe its premise and a willingness to kill sympathetic characters without warning. Its opening episodes are frequently cited among the most effective in modern anime for establishing stakes and hopelessness with remarkable efficiency. Its opening hour remains among the most effective introductions in modern action anime, establishing scale and hopelessness with remarkable economy.
