Saekano Watch Order: the Finale Movie and Both Specials, in order
“Saekano's two seasons, the finale film and both #0 specials in order.”
Tomoya Aki wants to make the greatest visual novel ever, and his heroine is the most ordinary girl in class. That's the whole pitch, and the watch order is even simpler. There are five titles on Lifehaki, and release order is the order.
Start with Season 1, which aired in 2015. Then watch Saekano .flat, the second season, from 2017. Finish with Saekano the Movie: Finale, the 2019 film that gives each heroine her ending. That's the full story: two seasons and a film.
So do you need the two specials? Answer: no. Both are numbered #0 fan service episodes that aired a week before each season, one in 2015 and one in 2017. They're bonus material. Think of them as bonus levels: fun with the cast, never required to reach the end.
At the end: Season 1, .flat, then the Finale film. Add the specials if you want more time with Blessing Software.
Season 1 (2015)
A 23-minute bonus special that aired a week before Season 1, in January 2015.
Both #0 specials are bonus fan service episodes that aired right before each season. They're optional, and the main story doesn't depend on them.
Start here. Tomoya recruits three very different girls to build a visual novel starring a very plain heroine. 12 episodes, winter 2015.
Season 2: .flat (2017)
A 22-minute bonus special that aired a week before .flat, in April 2017.
Direct continuation of Season 1. 11 episodes, spring 2017.
The finale film (2019)
The finale film by CloverWorks, 1 hour 54 minutes, October 2019. It gives each heroine a resolution.
