Story

Synopsis

Hardboiled private investigator Akutabe runs a specialized detective agency in Tokyo that tackles bizarre marital indiscretions and petty civil disputes. To handle difficult cases, Akutabe uses ancient demonic grimoires to summon terrifying mythological demons from the underworld into mortal service. However, upon crossing into the human realm, demons like the lecherous Azazel and gluttonous Beelzebub are shrunken into ridiculous, chibi mascot forms. Assisting the agency is naive college student Rinko Sakuma, who finds herself caught between Akutabe's sadistically brutal demonic discipline and the perverted demons' rebellious antics during absurd investigation assignments.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Adapted from Yasuhisa Kubo's darkly comedic seinen manga, *Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san.* was animated by Production I.G and directed by comedy specialist Tsutomu Mizushima, broadcasting in spring 2011. Spanning thirteen short-form episodes, the television series achieved cult fame for its unhinged slapstick violence, gross-out humor, and merciless satire of occult summoning tropes. Featuring brilliant comedic performances from Masaya Onosaka, Daisuke Namikawa, and Rina Satou, the anime earned widespread praise for Mizushima's rapid-fire comedic direction and fearless shock comedy.
