Story

Synopsis

Third-year high school student Nariyuki Yuiga comes from an impoverished family and desperately needs the special VIP scholarship recommendation from his school to cover his university tuition. The headmaster offers him the recommendation on one condition: he must become the private tutor for two brilliant classmates and help them gain admission into their dream universities. However, tutoring them proves hilariously impossible. Literature and poetry genius Fumino Furuhashi is hopeless at math and wants to study astrophysics, while mathematics prodigy Rizu Ogata cannot comprehend human emotions and wants to major in literature. As athletic swimmer Uruka Takemoto joins the study group, Nariyuki must manage chaotic adolescent romances and academic panic.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
We Never Learn: BOKUBEN (Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai) adapts the romantic comedy manga created by Taishi Tsutsui, serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shounen Jump. Co-produced by Studio Silver and Arvo Animation under the direction of Yoshiaki Iwasaki, the anime aired across two consecutive cours in Spring and Fall 2019. Celebrated for its endearing character dynamics, lively harem comedy, and relatable study struggles, the series became a major commercial hit, accompanied by original video animations and light novels.
