Abandoned during a torrential downpour, two-month-old kitten Chibi-neko is rescued by depressed eighteen-year-old high school student Tokio. Nursing the frail stray back to health against his mother objections, Tokio finds solace in the cat presence as he prepares for college entrance examinations. In Chibi-neko innocent perception, she envisions herself as a petite human girl with feline ears and whiskers, believing all kittens naturally mature into human adults. Learning from a nomadic tomcat about Cottonland, a mythical utopia where feline wishes manifest, Chibi-neko embarks on a whimsical journey toward self-acceptance.
