Sunrise produced this action-packed fifty-nine-minute theatrical anime film, released across Japanese cinemas in January 2012. Directed by Yoshimitsu Ohashi, the feature served as a comprehensive cinematic reimagining of the 2011 television series, refocusing the storyline around fan-favorite rival protagonist Knight Kijima. The production integrated remastered television combat sequences with brand-new animated prologue and epilogue footage detailing Knight's tragic origins. Featuring dynamic mechanical transformations, flashy crystal combat effects, and an energetic vocal theme by FictionJunction, the film provided dedicated fans with a satisfying, action-heavy expansion of the franchise.
Though it is a compilation movie, it may prove to be fairly impenetrable to those new to the world of Sacred Seven due to the very small amount of even basic information given to the viewer regarding plot and characterization.
