Story

Synopsis

Job hunting in Tokyo, quiet young woman Tamako Yashiro interviews for a part-time position at Ramen Akaneko, an unassuming noodle shop operated entirely by talking felines. Hired on the spot when she confesses she prefers dogs over cats, ensuring no distracting pampering of the cooks, Tamako takes on the unique responsibility of brushing shedding fur and washing kitchen dishes. Between master chef Bunzo's meticulous broth boiling and customer service disputes handled by charismatic feline staff, Tamako finds solace and purpose in the noodle shop's warm, comforting atmosphere.
