Story

Synopsis

Renge, Natsumi, Komari, and Hotaru win a trip to Okinawa, which for a group of children whose entire world consists of a village with a five-student school is roughly equivalent to international travel. The film follows their vacation with the franchise's characteristic patience, finding its pleasures in unfamiliar food, new scenery, and the small social awkwardness of meeting people outside their tiny circle. Nothing dramatic happens, which is precisely the appeal, and the trip's ending carries a gentle melancholy. Every scene finds its pleasure in something small rather than something dramatic.
