Synopsis

Nineteen-year-old college student Kyosuke Kasuga is crossing a street when an out-of-control vehicle strikes him, triggering an involuntary burst of his psychic powers. Instead of dying, Kyosuke is hurled three years forward in time into the summer of 1994. Arriving in a bustling future Tokyo, he discovers that his twenty-two-year-old self has vanished while working as a photojournalist in a war-torn country. Reconnecting with his beloved Madoka Ayukawa, who is now an accomplished, sorrowful adult woman living alone, Kyosuke must navigate mature emotional realities while searching for a way back to his original era.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Kyosuke tracks down his future self's mentor and learns that his twenty-two-year-old self did not perish in the foreign war zone; he fell into a coma and his psychic consciousness drifted into temporal limbo. With Madoka's loving encouragement, nineteen-year-old Kyosuke uses his psychic abilities at the historic telephone booth where their romance first began, aligning both timelines. His consciousness returns to 1991 just before the traffic collision, enabling him to dodge the oncoming vehicle. He eagerly reunites with the teenage Madoka, confident that their profound love will endure through every adult trial ahead.
