Directed by franchise creator Yoshiyuki Tomino and produced by Sunrise, *Mobile Suit Gundam F91* debuted in Japanese theaters in March 1991. Featuring character designs by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko and mechanical designs by Kunio Okawara, the theatrical film was conceived to launch a fresh generation of Universal Century storytelling set three decades after the One Year War. While originally planned as a full-length television series, the compressed movie garnered acclaim for its fluid hand-drawn mobile suit animation, dramatic emotional stakes, and Hiroko Moriguchi's hit theme song *Eternal Wind*, inspiring popular manga sequels like *Crossbone Gundam*.
