Synopsis
It is 1937 in Manchukuo, the Japanese puppet state in Manchuria, where human life is cheap. Isamu, a soldier of the Kwantung Army, loses his right eye in battle and is written off as useless. He is sent to the army's agricultural corps, where his superiors abuse him every day. Then he notices poppies, the raw material for opium, growing in a corner of the farm. To save his sick mother, he starts refining opium. He then meets Li Hua, a former member of the Green Gang, and the two push into the Manchurian opium trade. Be warned that the story is a work of fiction with graphic violence and drug abuse.
