Synopsis

Celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the iconic magical girl franchise, this grounded, heartfelt drama follows three modern adult women from completely different walks of life who share a lifelong love for the anime Ojamajo Doremi. Twenty-seven-year-old Tokyo career woman Mire Yoshizuki, twenty-two-year-old college student Sora Nagase who struggles with career anxiety, and twenty-year-old freelance worker Reika Kawatani meet by chance outside the fictional Maho-do shop in Kamakura. Bonding over their childhood nostalgia for Doremi Harukaze and her witch apprentice friends, the three women embark on a sightseeing road trip across Japan to visit franchise landmarks.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
As they travel to Takayama and Kyoto, the women confront their real-life domestic troubles: Mire faces professional discrimination, Sora doubts her teaching vocation, and Reika deals with an exploitative boyfriend who steals her savings. Through mutual encouragement, heartfelt drunken conversations, and the whimsical memories of Doremi's magic, each woman finds the emotional courage to make difficult adult choices. Reika breaks up with her toxic partner, Sora commits to special education teaching, and Mire launches her own consulting career, proving that the true magic of childhood is the resilience it leaves behind.
