Synopsis

Overworked corporate employee Rei Ohhashi dies from exhaustion and wakes up reincarnated as Rae Taylor, the heroine of her favorite fantasy otome video game, Revolution. Rather than pursuing any of the game three handsome royal princes, Rae is head-over-heels in love with the story haughty antagonist, noblewoman Claire François. Undeterred by Claire imperious insults, arrogant bullying, and public humiliation tactics, Rae enthusiastically embraces every punishment as a blessing, showering the bewildered villainess with unfiltered affection. Together, they navigate aristocratic politics, magical exams, and underlying social inequality across the kingdom.

Broadcast twelve episodes from October to December 2023, *I'm in Love with the Villainess* was produced by studio Platinum Vision and directed by Hideaki Oba. Based on the bestselling yuri fantasy light novel series written by Inori and illustrated by Hanagata, the anime earned widespread praise for its unapologetic romantic devotion, witty romantic comedy timing, and nuanced exploration of economic class disparity and sexual identity. Scored with lighthearted orchestral music, the show was a standout seasonal romance.
