Synopsis

High school student Saito Hojo and his sharp-tongued classmate Akane Sakuramori are bitter academic rivals who cannot spend five seconds together without exchanging biting insults. Their daily enmity turns into complete domestic shock when their traditionalist grandparents arrange an unexpected marriage alliance between their families. Forced to live together in a private suburban apartment while concealing their wedded status from curious classmates, the bickering teenagers navigate chore duties, shared grocery budgets, and awkward domestic proximity, slowly discovering vulnerable qualities beneath their prickly public facades.

Background (may contain spoilers)

Based on the romantic comedy light novel series written by Seiju Amano and illustrated by Narumi Nanami, *I'm Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class* was adapted for television through a production collaboration between Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ. Directed by Hiroyuki Oshima, the series balances lively enemies-to-lovers comedic friction with sweet, gradual domestic intimacy. The anime highlights expressive dialogue timing, colorful character animation, and the hilarious contrast between classroom hostility and private married life.
