Story

Synopsis

Buried beneath glacial Himalayan ice caps for decades, deranged cybernetic scientist Doctor Wheelo is resurrected when loyal assistant Doctor Kochin gathers the wish-granting Dragon Balls. Trapped as an immense mechanical brain, Wheelo resolves to transplant his consciousness into Earth mightiest martial warrior to enact global subjugation. Mistakenly abducting legendary Master Roshi before discovering Son Goku unmatched battle power, the villain unleashes brainwashed defenders and biomechanical assassins upon Mount Paozu champions. Goku, Piccolo, and young Gohan must unleash devastating Spirit Bomb energy to shatter the madman cataclysmic orbital fortress.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Directed by Daisuke Nishio and produced by Toei Animation, this March 1990 feature stands as the second cinematic entry in the *Dragon Ball Z* library. Premiering at the Toei Anime Fair, the movie is renowned for kinetic hand-to-hand fight choreography choreographed by veteran animator Minoru Maeda and stunning environmental devastation sequences. The storyline pays deep homage to classic science fiction tropes of brain transference, showcasing Master Roshi fighting seriously alongside younger pupils Goku, Krillin, and Gohan.
