Synopsis
Nobita and Shizuka use Doraemon's Storybook Shoes to step inside the magical fictional worlds of Arabian fairy tales, exploring legendary palaces and enchanted deserts. However, when Nobita accidentally loses his shoes and panics, Shizuka is left stranded inside the magical book just as Nobita's mother burns the discarded volumes in the backyard furnace. Horrified that Shizuka is trapped in 8th-century Baghdad, Doraemon, Nobita, Gian, and Suneo use the Time Machine to travel back to the historical Abbasid Caliphate during the golden reign of Caliph Harun al-Rashid to mount a desert rescue.
⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Shizuka is captured by ruthless slave trader Abdil and sold to pirate bandit Cassim, who treks across the Arabian desert in search of the mythical city of jewels. Doraemon and the boys cross sand dunes on a magical flying carpet, confronting monstrous sandstorms and desert djinns. In the climax, the group arrives at Sinbad the Sailor's floating palace fortress. Utilizing Sinbad's enchanted treasures and Doraemon's gadgets, Nobita and friends defeat Cassim's pirate bandits and free Shizuka, bidding a warm farewell to Sinbad before returning safely to modern Tokyo.
