Synopsis

After wrenching his lower back while playing with Shin-chan, Hiroshi Nohara visits a mysterious new massage parlor in town, only to awaken and discover that his biological body has been transformed into a fully mechanical cyborg android. While Misae is horrified, Shin-chan is thrilled by his new Robot Dad, who can cook gourmet meals, vacuum floors with high-powered suction, and fly with rocket boosters. However, the transformation is revealed to be the work of Father Alliance, a reactionary patriarch organization plotting to use brainwashed cyborg fathers to restore strict patriarchal authority across Japan.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Shin-chan discovers that Robot Dad is not Hiroshi's real body, but an android clone implanted with Hiroshi's memories, while the real biological Hiroshi is held captive in a subterranean laboratory. The villainous Chief Kuroiwa brainwashes the android into attacking Kasukabe, but Shin-chan's tears restore Robot Dad's gentle soul. In a heart-wrenching climax, both Hiroshis battle Kuroiwa's giant mecha to protect the family. Mortally damaged, Robot Dad engages in one final arm-wrestling match with the real Hiroshi, accepting that he is a copy and peacefully shutting down as Shin-chan weeps.
