Story

Synopsis

The second installment of the theatrical recap trilogy chronicles the escalating war between Lelouch Lamperouge's Black Knights and the Holy Britannian Empire. Operating under his masked alter ego Zero, Lelouch orchestrates brilliant tactical strikes across Area 11 to secure an independent Japanese territory. However, political maneuvers turn agonizingly personal when Third Princess Euphemia li Britannia proposes the Special Administrative Zone of Japan, inviting all Elevens to live in peace and threatening to render Zero's revolutionary crusade obsolete by winning over Suzaku Kururugi and the populace.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
During private negotiations, Lelouch's Geass becomes permanently active, inadvertently compelling Euphemia to execute Japanese civilians. Horrified by his uncontrollable power, Lelouch tearfully shoots Euphemia to end the bloodbath, igniting the Black Rebellion across Tokyo. When Nunnally is abducted to Kamine Island, Lelouch abandons his troops mid-battle, causing the Black Knights to collapse. Suzaku corners Lelouch in the island ruins, shooting his weapon and delivering him to Emperor Charles zi Britannia, who rewrites Lelouch's memories, while Shirley Fenette survives her canonical television death in this altered theatrical timeline.
