Synopsis
Set between the two television seasons of Code Geass, this second theatrical chapter follows the European Union's Special Forces unit W-0, commanded by Leila Malcal. Following their miraculous survival during the Narva campaign, ace pilot Akito Hyuga and former rebellious Japanese insurgents Ryo, Ayano, and Yukiya are assigned to Operation Apollo, an audacious airborne drop directly behind Euro-Britannian frontlines in Poland. While executing their mission, the squad faces the elite Knight of St. Michael order, led by Akito's ruthless older brother, Shin Hyuga, who wields a sinister Geass of death.
⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Dropping behind enemy lines in their customized Alexander Knightmares, the W-0 unit sabotages Britannian supply lines and defeats garrison troops. However, Shin Hyuga ambushes the team with his heavy Vercingetorix mecha, activating his Geass command to compel Akito to embrace suicide. Akito's inner berserker awakens, allowing him to fight Shin to a standstill before Leila remote-detonates an electronic smoke screen to extract the team. Meanwhile in Euro-Britannia, mysterious tactical advisor Julius Kingsley and his bodyguard Suzaku Kururugi arrive to seize operational command of the front.
